Competition

Format

There will be a preliminary round with 18 bands, followed by a judges’ critique and finals.

  • Preliminaries begin in the morning with Class A and each class will follow in turn. You can reserve a spot for your band by submitting the registration form. Placement order in each class in the preliminary round will be determined by the date registration is complete (payment and form are both received). The latest times in each class will be given to the bands who complete their registrations first.
  • Judges’ Critique- After the preliminary competition, there will be a judges’ critique for the band directors. They will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with each judge and receive additional feedback.
  • Finals begin at 7 p.m. The top band in each class will move to the final round. Then, the next highest overall scores will fill the remaining spots. Ten bands will perform in the finals.
